Preparation and Prospects

I have been buying some tack and supplies so I have some stuff already prepared when I buy a horse.
A couple weeks ago, I went up to Butler's Tack in Ranburne, AL. They had a Vespucci Patent leather Dressage bridle for $75! So I went up the next day with my boyfriend, David, and we split the cost on it. It is a cob size, but if it doesn't fit my future horse, I'll see about ordering other parts from JustBridles.com.
Last week, I went up to Dover and Atlanta Saddlery to look around, and I ended up buying the purple Lettia Coolmax pad that I've been wanting, a purple tack box, and a Practical Horseman magazine (I want to get a subscription of that!). I didn't buy anything from Dover, just ATL Saddlery.
Then I went to Wallace's and bought a Germinator antimicrobial body brush (I thought it was cool), a purple face brush (like it because it wasn't SO soft like the usual face brushes, so it would actually brush the hair, and not just slide over it), and a Slick n Easy grooming block.
Then I went to the feed store on 166 (the one that is connected to a boarding barn... don't remember the name of it) and bought a hoof pick.
Then went to Turner's and bought the Weaver Purple Graphite halter. Now I just need to find a place that sells the matching leadrope... I've been looking.
I then went to Chatt Hills on saturday with David for the FEI/USEF/USEA Eventing CIC 2, CIC 1, A ,I, P, T ,N, BN. We just watched a little bit of the Intermediate cross country at the water complex, and walked past the dressage arena to see a couple rides, then went to the tack trailer vendor. David bought me the HDR 5 Point Breastplate that I have been wanting! (I love him! He is so supportive of my riding and everything I need for it, I couldn't ask for anyone better. He even wants to buy a farm when we get married, so we can do boarding and training.) I also bought Super Comfort stirrup pads (because people on COTH recommended them and all the reviews were GREAT, and they are said to help ankle pain. I stuck them on my MDC's yesterday, I can't wait to ride in them!), rubber spur protectors, and purple electrical tape for XC boots.
The same day, I went up to Horse Town in Marietta. They didn't really have anything I wanted (Plus I didn't know what size of anything to get because who knows what size my future horse will wear), so I headed back home, but on the way back, there was a Tractor Supply, so I ran in there. I bought a purple jelly curry and a jar of Mink Oil because someone on COTH used it to darken leather.
Yesterday, I went to Walmart, Home Depot, and Lowe's to find a cheap tack trunk. Nothing I liked, so I went to the Tractor Supply in Carrollton. Found a big tack trunk that I liked, so I bought it. I then went back to walmart and bought 3 little containers to hold smaller things... one for splint/brushing boots, one for bell boots, and one for the little things (electrical tape, duct tape, scissors, USEA medical armband, girth extender, spurs, stirrup pads, etc.). I put all my bits into a little plastic bag. I also stuffed all my saddle pads into bags to keep them clean after I washed them all. I organized everything in there. So exciting!

I am really interested in buying a young OTTB gelding and training him up through the levels. They are so athletic and cheap! I would also be interested in a warmblood, or TB/WB cross, but they are more expensive.
